Hubbard One signs up two new law firms March 10th, 2010 by The Orange Rag
Hubbard One has signed up two major regional law firms as new clients - Dickinson Dees and Flint Bishop LLP.
Dickinson Dees chose Hubbard One to revamp their entire web presence and to help devise a clear client interaction strategy. The project includes a new look and feel for the website, new content and a cutting edge Web 2.0 platform. Andrew Marshall, marketing communications manager at Dickinson Dees, said: "This is about more than just a new website for us. Hubbard One has helped us use this as the catalyst for a wider rebranding project, with our website being the blueprint for communications. The team at Hubbard One has been inspirational during the initial creative planning sessions and we feel this project is the driver we needed to propel our brand forward."
Marshall says the project has allowed the firm to think more holistically about its approach to client marketing and business development. "With our new website utilising Web 2.0 technology, we have lots of exciting plans on the digital front too and we are looking forward to being able to interact with our clients with more online content in the form of videos, blogs and other interactive platforms." Hubbard One will kick off the Dickinson Dees web project in the next few weeks and the firm is aiming for a late summer launch.
Over at Flint Bishop LLP, the firm is implementing Hubbard One’s best of breed Client Relationship Management (CRM) solution: Contact Manager Communicator. Carl Weston, head of marketing at Flint Bishop, said: "The firm is aware of the importance of an efficient firm-wide approach to managing our information assets and relationships. This will enable us to be more proactive and targeted by creating marketing initiatives for existing and prospective clients, with a solid bank of knowledge at our fingertips to back up our strategy." (According to the Insider 250 Chart, Flint Bishop previously ran the old Elite Apex CRM system.)

So that’s why the editor is grumpy March 5th, 2010 by The Orange Rag
People sometimes say "That Charles Christian, he can be a bit grumpy sometimes." I say "You would be too if you had to deal with some of the PR consultants out there. They don't know their jobs, don't know their clients' products, don't know the media – and think their stories are totally unique and haven't been heard a gzillion times before." And I'm glad to say I'm not alone, as this video clip shows...
Enoch Evans drop Solcase & Miles 33 for Pilgrim Lawsoft March 4th, 2010 by The Orange Rag
Enoch Evans Solicitors has selected Lawsoft from Pilgrim Systems as a complete solution to replace its existing SolCase and Miles 33, case and practice management systems.
Enoch Evans – which provides specialist advice in the area of corporate and commercial law as well as commercial and domestic property, dispute resolution, private client and regulatory offences – was one of the longest standing users of the original Visualfiles SolCase system now owned by LexisNexis. Case management is used extensively in the day to day running of the firm and so the decision to move to a new system was not taken lightly given the reliance users have on case management technology.
The selection process was initially focused on selecting a supplier and technology that would deliver a functionally rich matter management system to the company and commercial departments as well as a leading edge case management solution to replace the legacy system. Towards the end of the firm’s due diligence, it was decided that it made sense to also replace the legacy finance system (Miles33) with LawSoft’s PMS thus deploying a single system to all users that will cater for financial, case, matter, document and marketing management.
The firm’s managing partner David Evans said, “We whittled down the list of potential suppliers to two relatively quickly. The key difference then was that Pilgrim could offer the complete solution with one technology. When we did our sums it became evident that LawSoft’s cost of ownership was very attractive when compared to servicing separate systems and multiple annual support contracts. We were looking for a supplier that would be able to provide a solution that would develop as we continued to expand our core business. We feel we have selected the best technology as well as the best financial option for the firm.”

All change at Elite - again March 3rd, 2010 by The Orange Rag
Just had this statement forwarded on to us...
Dear Colleagues,
Steve Buege has decided that now is a good time to step down as CEO of Elite and pursue other career opportunities. Steve has played an important role at Thomson Reuters in several leadership positions and, in particular, in supporting the development, launch and customer implementation of the Elite 3E platform. Much of the transformation at the Elite business that he came to accomplish has been completed, or is well underway, and the business is positioned to grow, making it a logical time for him to transition.
Kim Massana, Elite senior vice president and general manager, will serve as president while an external search is conducted for this role.
We would like to thank Steve for his contributions to the business and wish him well.
More news when we get it.

Land Data seeks new NLIS channel partners March 3rd, 2010 by The Orange Rag
Land Data, the NLIS regulator, is today launching the 2010 NLIS (the National Land Information Service) channel license programme, inviting companies to apply for a license to operate as a regulated provider of NLIS data. Under the terms of the license agreement, successful applicants will handle authoritative electronic conveyancing searches from official data providers including all local authorities in England and Wales, Land Registry, the Coal Authority and several water companies. The official data is distributed to the licensed channels by the NLIS Hub.
The first phase of the NLIS channel license programme, launched in May 2009 generated a high level of interest which secured two new licensees, Thames Water Property Insight and Australian based information company GlobalX Information.
Over the next 3 months, Land Data will brief applicants on the channel licensing options. The NLIS channel license fee costs £35,000 for 9 years, with no reoccurring annual payment. The new channel roles will take effect in September 2010.
Ian Swithenbank CBE, Chairman IDeA and Deputy Chair LGA Executive said “Land Data is the official government appointed organisation that manages and regulates the National Land Information Service (NLIS) contracts. Today NLIS carries the sole mandate of providing the only official electronic ‘front door’ for local authorities. Land Data’s role is to ultimately provide consumers, via NLIS, with official electronic land and property information at a fair price, safe in the knowledge that this information is from source and delivered through the only regulated, secure and national provider in England and Wales.”
Applicants can download a channel license preview document and register their interest at www.land-data.org.uk
